After Hours Mixer

May 12, 2010 - United Way & Midwest Communications After Hours Mixer

There was a great crowd on a great evening for the May 12 mixer held at the West Harvest Inn this past Wednesday.  This event was co-hosted by Midwest Communications and the United Way. 

The United Way Spokesperson, Sharon Swift, was extremely pleased to state that they had reached their target this year and that the amount to be given out during this mixer was the largest ever.

Over $100,000.00 was accepted on behalf of varous groups in our community. (Including: CNIB $7500, Paraplegic Association $5000, Catholic Social Services $8000, LABIS $8500, Bea Fisher $9000, Midwest Family Connections $6000, Lloyd Rescue Squad $6500, Sexual Assault Centre $10500, MS Society $7000, Slim Thorpe Centre $5000, Community Youth Centre $7300, Association for the Community Living $7500, Libbie Yound Centre $8000, and the Interval Home $10000.)

Many door prizes were awarded courtesy of Midwest Communications and United Way. The Grand prize winners were Jerry Nelson of CNIB and Heather Jones from Synergy Credit Union. The 50/50 was won by Cosette Green from A&I.
