NORTH-SOUTH CORRIDOR PLANNING STUDY OPEN HOUSE |

In the fall of 2007, the City of Lloydminster commissioned Stantec Consulting Ltd. to conduct a functional planning study for the upgrade of the highway 17 North-South Corridor. The limits of the study extend from 36th Street to 62nd Street. In the first phase of the project, Stantec consulted with key stakeholders to determine the issues, concerns and desires regarding the improvement of the corridor. This Information was used to develop six preliminary improvement options that were presented at a public open house held in June. Persons attending the open house were asked to rate the options presented and indicate what they liked or didn't like about each option. The feedback gathered was used to short-list the preliminary options to two. Additional planning work has been completed on the two short-listed options. The two options will be presented to the public at a come-and-go open house to be held: Wednesday, September 17, 2008 3:00pm to 8:00pm Best Western Wayside Inn & Suites Lloydminster . Persons attending the open house will be asked to review the options and provide feedback. The feedback will be used in the selection of a final recommended option. Back by popular demand! It's Name That Logo! Don’t miss out! Last year’s logo contest was a great success and we are pleased to offer you the opportunity to participate in this year’s promotion. This is your chance to see how effective your logo is. Sponsorship cost is $300+GST, your sponsorship entitles you to receive three logo placements in The Lloydminster Source (two with partial logo and one with full logo) and promotion of the contest through our Chamber newsletter and website. The deadline for entries will be Monday, November 17th. The winner and runner-up will then be revealed along with the answers in The Source on Thursday, November 27th.
